The Most Insane Magical Girl Cross Over Ever
Mitakihara City. The city of the future. The schools has equipment other districts would have murdered in the night with a rusty razor for. With an obscene excess of public funds they had replicated some of the worlds most legendary landmarks (such as the Eiffel Tower). It also had a really great harbor district and thus a goal for people trying to flee the magenta flood of tireless naked slime people determined to add everyone to their numbers.
Madoka stood at the edge of town, looking at the major highway and unirail leading in. No cars or trains were moving now. There was however the masses of pink slime thing headed straight for her and her home, her family, classmates, and people she passed on the way to school each morning.
Madoka, Puella Magi, Magical Girl, pulled back on her wood and rose themed bow and fired a glowing pink arrow into the sky. A moment later a pattern appeared overhead like the Sephirot, and dozens, over a hundred glowing pink arrows rained down on the slimy invaders.
They were torn through like swiss cheese and fell apart, but in under a minute they'd have pulled themselves back together and continued their advance.
"They're not Witches or Familiars." Madoka said almost to herself.
She expected Kyubey to appear out of thin air and give his own polite but emotionless observation and drop one or two actual facts among his evasive answers. But there was nothing.
Kyubey was likely in Mitakihara City right now, finding every terrified for her life tween-age girl he could find and offering them one wish in exchange for becoming a Puella Magi. The majority of those wishes right now of course would be for escape, safety, or for the monsters to go away. Of course Kyubey wouldn't mention of course that once they let their darker emotions devour them that they'd turn into nightmarish abominations from hades that had to be put down by -more- Puella Magi. That tended to reduce the number of Contractees.
'He doesn't understand, he really doesn't.' Madoka would have loved to think of Kyubey as evil, but he wasn't. But he wasn't in the least bit good either. He simply didn't get the human concept of loss and why the death of a single person was something to mourn.
"I think they're called 'Youma.'" Said a girl next to her in a bright yellow and brown dress with a German style to it. "I think the Sailor Senshi are supposed to take care of them."
Madoka and Mami were both distance fighters, so it made sense for the two of them to make up the second line while Sayaka and Homura made up the front line. As for Kyoko, working well with others had never been her strong suit, she was acting as skunkworks, it was nicer than calling her a loose cannon.
"Those are human beings." Madoka said simply.
"Not anymore. No more than the witches." Mami said simply as she picked off a few with her flintlocks like a sniper before switching to heavy artillery and greatly increasing the time it took for them to reform.
'Or us.' Madoka almost said. She remembered Homura telling her of the timeline where Mami's response to finding out the origin of the witches had been to tearfully kill her teammates. In this timeline Madoka was living she had taken it much better.
Homura refused to say how many times she had gone back in time to try and stop Madoka from making a contract and sealing her fate to die or become the witch Kriemhild Gretchen.
In this timeline that Madoka was living, Homura had chosen to tell her -very early- the truth of the witches but no one else. In this timeline that Madoka was living, after Sayaka had made her own 'early' contract to save Mami from the witch Charlotte, Madoka had made her own contract with Kyubey, knowing precisely the price. 'I wish Puella Magi didn't have to become witches and I could help them.' That was the wish Madoka had made in this timeline in which she was living.
Kyubey of course had been 'terrified' of that wish, but due to there being a very large lack of safety measures regarding what contractees could wish for regarding the system, he had no choice but to comply. Of course, Madoka had said 'didn't have to' not 'would not.'
"Foul monsters! As a hero of justice I shall not let you pass!" Sayaka summoned a field of blades into existence slashing with the speed of a cheetah and the grace of a ballerina dancer, dismembering and beheading the Jellax as they recklessly continued their approach with no fear for their lives as Sayaka's blade attacks were merely an inconvenience for them.
In the space between ticks of the clock, the napalm bombs appeared among the reforming Jellax, who screamed in alarm, pain, and horror as the fire devoured them. This caused the horde to pause as they had no idea where these bombs were appearing from apparently by magic in the wake of the knightly teenage girl who they couldn't get close enough to touch.
Homura regarded her work with icy precision. Freezing time, laying her bomb she had liberated (stolen) from a military weapon's stockpile and letting time move foreword again. It was keeping Sayaka alive, and that was good for Madoka, so Homura did so to the best of her ability.
Homura wondered which version of herself she was anymore, having traveled back two months endlessly, she had lost track herself, each time creating a new timeline from nothing. She wondered if another Homura had succeeded already where she had failed, or Madoka had made a wish even more overwhelming than the one she had in this timeline. It wouldn't surprise her.
Sayaka continued to spout her brave one-liners and continued to turn Jellax into jello cubes but at the same time wondering at the base of her mind. 'Where are the senshi?'
In this timeline where Sayaka lived, she remembered meeting the Senshi of Jupiter. The youma that had wandered too far from Juuban, Sayaka cutting it to shreds like a maniac. Jupiter wondering about her. Sayaka calmly explaining she wasn't human, she was just a Soul Gem controlling an empty human body that used to be hers, she was just a zombie.
And Jupiter slapped her. Caught off guard, Sayaka hadn't turned off her sense of pain. Jupiter had asked if she felt that, if she really thought she wasn't feeling sad, if she really thought she wasn't feeling angry.
"Zombies don't have hearts. They don't feel bad or good! Now stop this nonsense about being a zombie!" In this timeline Jupiter had said.
Homura had told Sayaka that in every timeline she had been to Sayaka had died, weather she made a contract or not, weather her Soul Gem became a Grief Seed or not, death awaited her.
And Sayaka wondered if her death, had been exchanged for that of the person who saved her.

~Sayaka.~ Homura said in her mind, even if Kyubey wasn't present they could still use his telepathy as a relay, ~Withdraw, have Madoka purify your Soul Gem.~
~No! I can still fight! I can still hold on for a while longer!~
~You're such an idiot.~
~Yes!~ Sayaka mentally snarled as she summoned a sword that would make Cloud Strife green with envy and swatted at the Jellax like they were flies.
~Your choice.~ Homura saw. This flood of living slime was without end. They were only delaying it, no matter how many Homura incinerated, they were more ready to take their place. But she didn't have a choice. Madoka wanted to give the human beings as much time as possible to flee for their individuality. So Homura stayed as well.
Kyōko meanwhile, on almost the other side of town, dodged a lightning bolt followed up by a fireball.
"I heard you Puella Magi were dangerous." Slimey said. "But I didn't think you were crazy!"
"Depends on yer point ta view!" Kyoko snarled extending her spear so it went straight through the fire throwing Jellax. Of course it did no actual damage. She violently tore the spear upwards, it split the Jellax in two. Of course she'd reform in seconds.
Unlike the main horde, the 'guardian jellax' had decided to take an indirect approach to reaching Mitakihara City while the main horde simply got the attention of the city's super natural defenders.
Apparently they hadn't heard that working as a united whole had -never- been the Puella Magis' defining trait!
"You're not magical girls!" The fire spewing one declared, "You're just thugs who smash whatever happens to be in your way not caring who gets hurt in the process!"
"I have a friend who you'd get along very well with."
The lightning throwing one said, "We'll all get along very well once we are all part of the Jellax."
"Sorry! No! Not happening! I made a promise to myself a while ago that I wouldn't lose what humanity I still have! So take your offer to shove it!" Kyoko said with passion that mirrored her over the top red hair and dress.
"Sorry, that's not an option. All must become part of our family."
" . . . Sorry. Ya know. If we had met a bit earlier, there might have been a part of me that WANTED to be part of your family, even at your sick price but . . ." In this timeline Kyoko was living, faces passed through her mind: bug up her rear Homura, blind idealist Sayaka, annoying 'Can't we all get along?' Madoka, always smiling Mami never showing how terrified she was. "Right here? Right now? I have a family." 'Please don't let Sayaka ever find out I said that!'
That was when Kyoko turned her spear into a link chain. The Jellax Guardians weren't worried, she was good at dodging, but her physical attacks had all proven moot. Then the chain kept extending, and rolled up like cheap christmas lights into a ball . . . came down with all the force and impact of a boulder! Their pieces scattered everywhere.
Kyoko breathed in and out at the exertion.

"Ah shut it."
Madoka looked at the creature before her shaped like a young long haired woman and a red bow with a yellow bow-tie. With her arms and legs currently blasted off but reforming. "I want you tell your mistress something. A version of me has been exactly where she is. And it isn't going to work. Creating a place where everyone is happy by force is a fake happiness, it's artificial, your ideal world will be nothing but a lie."
"You can tell her yourself. And you can apologize for having such a narrow, pig-headed, ignorant view of our family." Muck said simply having gotten past the cannon fire and hail of arrows while her fellow Jellax had been pinned down.
"Another me knows what it was like to rule a world where everyone was happy, where no one was sad, where no negative feelings of any kind were allowed. In my dreams I see Kriemhild Gretchen's ideal world. . . . Your family will be a shallow, listless, aimless nothing, everyone will be happy, but no one will be remotely defined as alive."
"You're not making any sense!"
Muck shoot out a spear of her own body to make direct contact with Madoka's body. However between ticks of the clock Madoka vanished as Homura grabbed her pink clade comrade and pulled her out of harm's way. These Jellax had no idea that a Puella Magi's body was just an empty shell remotely animated by girl's Soul Gem, but no need to test what would happen.
Mami blew Muck to pieces, of course Muck began to pull herself back together almost at once.
"We've done all we can Madoka. We can't buy them anymore time. It's time we left." Homura said simply as they horde had inched closer and closer and Homura had almost run of napalm (she had actually had to twice already freeze time and go and steal more from the abandoned stockpiles).
Madoka looked at the coast, and saw the ships, they hadn't all vanished over the horizon.
"No. Not yet. Just a little bit more."
" . . . As you wish." Homura vanished and reappeared reeking behind the horde's front line.
"We're not going to win this are we?" Sayaka asked her.
+Danger. Soul Gem Corruption At 75% +
"Depends on how you define 'win' our objective to simply buy as much time as possible for the civilians to escape."
"I see." Sayaka said perhaps finally seeing how the horde wasn't really getting smaller even though some of their numbers were now dead piles of ashes.
It had been Homura and Kyoko's idea to herd the witches and the familiars into the Jellax horde first. It had worked as long as the witches and their familiars had lasted, at first the Jellax horde was stopped in it's tracks. Then the Guardian Jellax had shown up . . . and one by one the witches and their familiars had fallen. Then the guardians had scattered, where to, they hadn't been able to quite figure out yet.
~Hey guys. Can ya hear me?~ Came Kyoko's voice over telepathy. ~Just want ya all to know, I don't . . . I don't regret meeting you guys.~
Kyoko was sucking wind she held her spear in a defensive pose, each breath a resistance to lay down. 'New and upgraded body my butt.'
Kyoko now faced, three, six, eight Jellax Guardian!
"We are the Star Light Slime!" Said three of the new comes together. "It's time for you to join our family and experience the love of the Jellax!"
"Sorry, I, I think the adoption paperwork didn't go through." Kyoko managed to quip. After another of the new comers had thrown an EARTHQUAKE her way followed by another of the new comes encasing her legs in ice, the last new comers had grabbed her arms and legs and kissed her. And nothing. The Jellax had looked positively confused and bewildered! Then the Jellax had been torn off by a flail of chained spear heads.
'I should almost thank that bastard stuffed animal for relocating my soul.' Kyoko thought.
"You are out numbered, out gunned, out flanked, and your resources are low." Said the ice throwing one, "Please just surrender, lower the barrier behind you and let us pass."
The Guardians had already tried to just simply through the openings in the fence Kyoko had created, it had grown spikes and spat them out.
"Eight, or a hundred." Kyoko breathed, "You're not getting through."

'I told you to shut up!' Kyoko mentally spat.
~Kyoko what's wrong?~ Sayaka dared call out.
~Nothing much. Just got some super special party guests . . . don't think I'll be able to be a good host much longer though, don't worry, I'll be sure to end the party with a bang. A big one.~
Sayaka felt the horror rise up inside her.

"We need to get those Guardians off Kyoko NOW . . . " Sayaka said simply.
"I can't leave you." Homura said simply, "You need to retreat and withdraw three minutes ago!"
"So Madoka wants more time. And you can't leave to help Kyoko as long as I'm here. And we don't have time to think up a good plan yes?"
"Yes." Homura said. She had exactly one handful of napalm left, she was reduced to using traditional grenades and pipe bombs, which were only delaying the enemy rather than damaging them even more so.
"Then we need a witch to draw those Guardians away from Kyoko now don't we?"

" . . . I'm sorry Sayaka." Homura said her voice like an Arctic wind, "It seems we've hung out too much. I've rubbed off on you. I apologize."
"Just save Kyoko please. You said I've always died no matter how times you go back in time right? Who am I to argue with fate?"
Homura actually started, she activated her shield's barrier as a child Jellax tried to give her a great big hug that got too close to her Soul Gem, "I promise Sayaka. This time we'll save you. Remember no matter how far you fall into the darkness. We'll come back for you."
"Thank you." She said a blackness gathering in her eyes.

"Madoka I'm sorry. You're going to have to leave without me."
And her Soul Gem shattered, and the remains twisted itself into something black and ugly. The connection lost, Sayaka's body resumed it's mundane attired and fell onto the highway like the stringless puppet it was.
The Jellax actually screamed in confusion and alarmed as something like a armored mermaid wielding sword and baton materialized around the Grief Seed, looking like something made of different pieces of two dimensional cloth in a three dimensional world. It roared mindlessly as it's puppet familiars materialized into existence around it. Sayaka's body lay empty and forgotten even as the Jellax tried to assimilate it only to find it didn't have a pulse. The witch whose name was Oktavia von Seckendorff cared nothing for it, only to do away with these creatures that dared interrupt it's symphony.
Receiving a blaring, scared, confused, and confused screams from a walkie talkie, Jelly told the Guardians they had to retreat at once.
"What makes you think you're going anywhere." Kyoko said taking out her hair braid, letting her hair fall loose. "We haven't had the fireworks yet. She tossed the hair pin foreword and threw her spear directly at it.
Time stopped, she felt someone grab her form behind and whisper in a harsh voice, "You don't get to die today!" And was pulled away before she could be engulfed in the explosion.
"SAYAKA!!!" Madoka screamed in absolute horror seeing the THING rise among the Jellax straight out of one her nightmares. "Why? WHY?" Her wish enabled her to heal the soul gems of others, Sayaka didn't need to be this!
Homura appeared with Kyoko next to her.
"Sayaka? . . . you . . ." Kyoko said seeing the nightmare mermaid, "you, you, you, dumb-dumb-dumb, how could, but-"
"She did it so I would no longer be watching her back and could save you while still delaying them." Homura said simply, but the edge in her tone was very audible.
"Stupid girl." Kyoko said her lip quivering, "How many times do I need to tell her that you should only think about yourself? That way, that way--." Kyoko bit her lip.
The Guardians were now racing to the scene to deal with the new witch that had appeared out of nowhere.
Homura put her hands on Madoka's pink clade shoulders, "Madoka, we ran out of time a while ago. We've been on borrowed time for too long as is. If we don't leave now we won't ever and I CAN promise you that your family will suffer for that."
"Don't mind me!" Mami shouted cheerfully, "Just keep having your heart to heart as I keep blasting the flood at point blank range!"
A this point, it was like trying to hold back a tidal wave with a wall of fire-hoses as Mami fired Tiro Finale as if her technique was going out season.
Homura used the last of her napalm, nearly exhausted the limits her time stop, dodged a beheading from Oktavia von Seckendorff's tree sized sword, and brought back a lifeless husk.
" . . . thank you." Kyoko said before Madoka could.
"If Madoka's to heal Sayaka later, she'll need a body to live in. And I don't trust Kyubey to provide her with a new one."
Madoka stiffly nodded, sniffing away tears. "Let's go!"
"Right behind you guys!" Mami happily declared reduced using her cannons as melee weapons as she used her flintlocks to blast the hands off of Muck who had got herself back together and was being way too friendly.
"Everyone hold onto me." Homura ordered and in the next second they were gone. The Guardians appeared on the scene a while later, combining all their efforts on Oktavia von Seckendorff.
The witch proved dangerous and formable, it delayed their efforts to move onto the city itself for not a short time. As it finally collasped and fell apart before their eyes and it's familiars were finished off quickly, the Jellax were confused by the black ordainment that fell from it's vanished body. It proved indestructible. Much like the others they had found. They touched it, and were confused when it reacted as if they were touching a human's body. The Grief Seed dug into Muck's hand and into her body but did no harm.
When the Guardians returned to the great pool that had been set up in the front court yard of the Imperial Palace in front of their queen's throne on Earth, they were even more confused at the shapes that rose out of the slime pool and took the shape of young tween age girls with the black ordainments at their centers.
"Who are you? What are you names?" Queen Jamanen asked not able to read their thoughts while they had been forming. They bowed to their queen and spoke in turn.
"Jellax . . .. Jellax Oktavia von . . . von Seckendorff."
