"I… I'm sorry, master. An older pony was there, they knew you'd send me and had a trap set. I managed to "erase" that one, sir, but I had to retreat for the time being. They laughed and said you must be slipping, letting your second-in-command walk into a trap so easily," I reply, looking up at him, bruises covering my face and upper body. 20121023: Added something to address some fridge logic regarding Twilight's method of negating the Valeyard's sonic attack.
20121024: Major scenes added by Kendell2. First some new lines of the Valeyard to make it more clear WHY seeing the comic would hurt Apple Pie so badly. And an additional scene with Apple Pie and Applejack after the dust settles before Rarity and Spike's scene. And hopefully made Apple Pie making it halfway through the comic to make more sense. + spelling by R1ck3t again.
20121025: TELL ME if you think this new addition adds or distracts from the story. Added some reactions from the heroes on Rarity animating Roseluck and Derpy's reaction to her being vaporized.
20121027: Added a final line with Derpy giving her fairwell to Roseluck.
20130330: Changed a line about one set of words damaging the Valeyard more than their actions could have.

That fight had some nice back and forth, even if a couple bits felt like pulls. Though, frankly, it might have gone just a little too long. I was growing weary of all the fake outs by the time the Doctor's camouflaged necklace was also a fake. But at least it didn't go that much further.
And now all that earlier foreshadowing about things repeating is made clear. Parenthesis is acting out some time loop stuff, and soon our heroes'll discover they're her pawns for tormenting Discord, and try to figure out how to break the cycle.
